Priscilla Presley Took In a Starving Street Dog. Where Elvis’s Wife Lets Him Sleep Now Will Melt Your Heart.

Priscilla Presley has a new best friend, and he almost didn’t make it this far.

This week she shared a video to introduce him to the world. His name is Toby. He’s a fluffy little white dog, 10 years old, and not long ago he was living out on the streets with nobody to care for him.

“He was on the streets, and somebody told me about him,” Priscilla says in the video. “He was not taken care of. He was starving.”

You’d never guess any of that from the dog you see now.

Priscilla, who most fans know as the wife Elvis adored, has always had a soft spot for animals that need a second chance. Toby is a rescue, and so is the other dog waiting for him at home. That older fellow is named Boz, and he’s 15. Bringing a new dog into the house is always a bit of a gamble, because the dog who got there first gets the final say.

Boz took one look at Toby and decided he liked him. The two of them get along just fine.

Here’s the clip Priscilla posted, where she holds Toby close and tells his whole story in her own voice.

Watch to the end and you’ll hear the part that fans keep repeating.

Toby is 10, but Priscilla laughs that he “doesn’t act like a 10-year-old.” He bounces around like a pup half his age. And where he chooses to settle down at night tells you how far he’s come. By every account he now curls up and sleeps right beside her, the same woman who took a chance on a hungry dog nobody else wanted.

Her verdict on him is short and sweet. “He is adjusted. He is a gem,” she says. She calls him “a sweet little lover,” and says “he’s turned out to be the best little friend and dog.”

This has been a tender year for Priscilla and her animals. Her beloved dog Ridley passed away back in April, and anyone who has lost a pet knows the quiet that leaves behind. Opening her home to Toby feels like a bit of that love finding somewhere new to go.

So press play and meet him. You’ll see a scruffy survivor who landed in about the safest, most spoiled spot a dog could ever hope for, right next to Priscilla Presley.

He waited 10 years for a home like this.
