Back in 1965, The Beatles went to meet Elvis Presley at his big house in California. They were incredibly excited to meet their hero, but the actual meeting did not go well. John Lennon felt deeply let down. He thought Elvis was quiet and boring, and that he acted more like a safe movie star than a wild rock pioneer. The magic simply was not there.

Lennon carried that disappointment with him for years. Later on, he gave a strict warning to his friend Mick Jagger. Lennon told him: “You should never meet your heroes. I would never meet Elvis, Mick, if I were you.” Because Lennon was so sure about it, Jagger listened. He chose to keep Elvis a perfect dream in his mind rather than risk a bad meeting.
Because of this, Jagger missed every chance to meet the King before Elvis sadly passed away in 1977.
Now, looking back at his long life, Jagger realizes he made a big mistake. “It was really stupid of me, really. I’d love to have met Elvis,” Jagger admitted during the interview.
