The Voice Season 26 Recap: Did the Judges Choose the Right Five Singers for the Finale?

Michael Stevens

The competition on The Voice Season 26 was full of excitement Monday night as the Top 8 gave it their all, hoping to earn a spot in the finale. By the end of the evening, only five contestants were left standing, and emotions were running high. Leading the group was Sofronio Vasquez from Team Michael Bublé. His powerful performance made him the clear favorite, with more than 36% of voters in a TVLine poll calling him the best of the night. But for the other contestants, the fight for a spot in the finale was far less certain.

The night included some big moments from the judges as well. Reba McEntire sang “Consider Me Gone” with so much emotion it gave everyone chills. Gwen Stefani brought this incredible energy to her performance of “Somebody Else’s” complete with dancers and a lively stage. Snoop Dogg’s artist October London performed his single, “3rd Shift,” showing off his smooth vocals and style. These moments kept the audience glued to the screen, waiting to see who would make it to the next round.

Among the contestants, Jeremy Beloate from Team Snoop stood out with his performance of Tom Jones’ “I (Who Have Nothing).” His voice was filled with emotion, and the crowd loved it. Christina Eagle, also from Team Snoop, gave a bold performance of Shania Twain’s “Man! I Feel Like A Woman!” She also nailed her earlier song, “Heart Like a Truck,” but it wasn’t enough to keep her in the competition.

Adam Bohanan from Team Reba sang Maxwell’s “Pretty Wings,” which showed his great voice but didn’t have the spark needed to grab votes. Jan Dan from Team Gwen performed John Mayer’s “Gravity” with precision and skill, but his quiet song choice left people wondering if he should’ve gone with something more exciting. Danny Joseph from Team Reba gave a strong and gritty performance of “House of the Rising Sun.” While his voice impressed, the performance felt a bit less focused than his earlier ones.

When the results were announced, Danny Joseph grabbed the last spot in the finale, joining Sofronio Vasquez and three others. Sadly, Adam Bohanan, Jan Dan, and Christina Eagle were eliminated. As the finale approaches, the remaining singers will need to bring their very best to win it all. The last showdown is just around the corner and fans can’t wait to see who will take the crown.
