Imagine having hundreds of millions of dollars, but your ultimate dream is just to walk down a normal grocery store aisle. Most of us take the little things for granted.
Grabbing a cart, picking out a box of cereal, and looking at price tags are just everyday chores.
BUT FOR MICHAEL JACKSON, IT WAS A LUXURY HE SIMPLY DID NOT HAVE.
“Its My Dream To Go To A Supermarket” – Michael Jackson
Because his level of fame was a literal prison, he could not step into public without risking a massive civilian riot. It got so severe that in 2003, a close friend actually had to close down an entire supermarket in Florida just for him.
To give it a real feeling, Michael’s staff, family, and friends populated the store. Some dressed up like regular shoppers, while others pretended to be cashiers and stockers.
For a few hours, the King of Pop put on a single yellow glove, pushed a shopping cart, and happily threw items into his basket.
He was super happy to enjoy such a small thing
He played around the aisles and later said the experience felt just like being at Disneyland, simply because he got to do something ordinary.
HE GAVE HIS ENTIRE CHILDHOOD AND PRIVATE LIFE AWAY TO THE PUBLIC STAGE.
This shopping video shows how simple and humble he was deep down. Someone who would be fascinated even by the thought of grocery store shopping.
On this day, June 25th, remember the gentle, human soul behind the massive music empire.
