The Country Newcomer Everyone Will Talk About Next Year

Alexis Morillo

Everyone is shouting about the same big names this CMA season. But somewhere in Nashville, a kid from Addis, Louisiana, is keeping his head down and letting the songs speak for him.

John Foster does not look like someone chasing fame. He looks like the guy who still says a quiet prayer before he hits a chord. Cowboy hat pulled low, notebook full of messy lines, heart full of real stories.

This is the same John who came second on American Idol in 2025, made his Grand Ole Opry debut, and went home to pack out a casino in Louisiana. Now he is aiming at the CMA stage, not with hype, but with hard work and old school country soul.

The song is called “A Little Goes a Long Way” and that title fits more than just the lyrics. He turns all those small moments into something that feels huge.

And that little porch song does not stay on the porch.

When the drums kick in and the band fills out “A Little Goes a Long Way,” the whole story opens up. You hear every verse, every little detail about paychecks, jukeboxes, and that girl who leans in closer. You see how he talks to the crowd, how they answer back, how that simple line “a little goes a long way” suddenly feels very big.

If the quiet moments show you who John is, this live performance shows you how far he can go.

John Foster – Little Goes A Long Way

And if you really want to know who John Foster is, you have to look at where he sings when the bright lights are gone.

Picture a tiny room in Nashville, called the Bluebird Cafe; this is the place where so many country careers started, and this is where John sits down with his guitar and proves he is not just “that guy from TV.”

On this night, he is not even singing his own song. He is standing beside Pam Tillis, a legend in her own right, and taking on a George Jones classic like “Who’s Gonna Fill Their Shoes.” No band to hide behind.
