What Went Wrong? Sydnie Christmas Faces Backlash After Big Night!

This year’s Royal Variety Performance got a lot of attention, and not all of it was positive. viewers were quick to share their thoughts, especially about the 29-year-old winner of Britain’s Got Talent, Sydnie Christmas. She showed up to the event wearing a shiny silver dress that grabbed everyone’s attention. But while her outfit got a lot of praise, her performance didn’t get the same love.

Sydnie had impressed everyone earlier this year with her beautiful version of the song “Somewhere Over the Rainbow,” which helped her win a £250,000 prize on Britain’s Got Talent. However, for the Royal Variety show, she chose to sing her new song, “Believer,” from her first album, “My Way”, which came out in October. And that decision didn’t sit well with some fans.

One unhappy viewer tweeted, “What a terrible song Sydnie Christmas sang. What a letdown after her performances on BGT. Apologies if it is a well-known song – I didn’t know it.” Ouch! Another person added, “Eeesh, that song wasn’t right for her. Really didn’t showcase her voice as well as the ones she performed on BGT.” It was tough to watch as the comments piled up.

But not everyone was negative! Some fans jumped in to support Sydnie. One user said, “Forgot how amazing Sydnie is… wow!” while another declared, “I stand by Sydnie Christmas being one of the best Britain’s Got Talent winners ever. THAT is what you call a performance fit for the #RoyalVarietyPerformance!” It was like two different groups were watching two different shows!

Sydnie herself shared some clips of her performance on Instagram, showing how proud she was of her accomplishment. She even gave fans a behind the scenes look at her glamorous outfit and how it was designed. Talk about hard work!

Amanda Holden and Alan Carr, hosted this glamorous event. They started the night with some funny jokes that some people found a bit awkward. Amanda joked that they looked like a “disappointing Love Island couple,” while Alan teased about her dress being “just on the right side of an Ofcom complaint.” Classic!

But as expected in today’s social media world, their jokes didn’t sit well with everyone. Some viewers quickly criticized them for their opening banter. In response to all the criticism, Amanda took to Instagram to defend herself and Alan. She pointed out that every year seems to bring the same complaints about whoever hosts the show.

Despite all the mixed reviews and online drama, it seems like both Sydnie and the hosts made quite an impact—good or bad—on viewers. The Royal Variety Performance may have had its ups and downs this year, but one thing’s for sure: it definitely got people talking!
