This duet was more than incredible. Two amazing voices perfectly blending together to form a sound so serene that it got thousands of views in just a month after the video was released online. At 56 years old, Sarah’s voice is just as angelic as before, if not better. She hits high notes flawlessly while playing the grand piano. It’s like she on a mission to always out-perform herself
Sarah looked stunning in a sparkly, fluffy faux-fur dress and shiny platform heels. She delivered an emotionally charged verse with, 45-year-old , Nelly Furtado, joining in, making the song even more spectacular. Nelly sang the second verse with her before passing the song back to Sarah, whose warm, natural tones kept everyone enchanted.
Now, let’s talk about her selection; of the song “Angel.” This beautiful piece hold a lot of meaning because it was written in 1996, after the sad death of Jonathan Melvoin, who died from a heroin overdose when he was only 34. Jonathan was a talented keyboardist who worked with Prince’s band, The Family, and played with other punk bands like the Dickies. He was also touring with The Smashing Pumpkins when he passed away. Even Prince wrote a tribute song called “The Love We Make” for him on his 1996 album Emancipation. It’s amazing how music can express such deep feelings and memories.

Going back to Sarah’s career—her album Surfacing was her first to reach #1 on the Canadian charts, even though it was her fourth album. It had hit songs like “Building a Mystery,” which was #1 in Canada, and “Sweet Surrender,” which reached #2. Another song, “Adia,” was her first and only song to make it into the Top 20 in the UK. She really made a big impact!
On the other hand, Nelly Furtado became famous with her first album Whoa, Nelly!, which reached #2 in Canada and the UK. But her third album, Loose, released in 2006, was a huge hit, hitting #1 in many countries. Produced by Timbaland, it included catchy songs like “Promiscuous,” “Maneater,” and “Say It Right.” Even though her last Top 10 single was “Broken Strings” with James Morrison in 2009, her first song “I’m Like A Bird” is still loved by pop fans everywhere.
