Richard has been compared to Journey frontman Steve Perry because of his proud but humble demeanor blended with a strong voice. Not only is Richard’s talent out of this world, but he also has a beautiful message of staying strong that resonates through the stage as he gets ready for his national tour with a live band.
Richard has been seriously unwell in recent days. “The last week or so has been hell on my soul. I had hernia surgery Wednesday afternoon and am still in pain. Had all my rotten teeth removed today, and the pain still stings. However, if nothing else I would like the opportunity to publicly thank the amazing woman next to me who has quietly been looking after me. I love you to the moon and back!”
Yet despite this adversity, Richard is eager to get on with his next project and hitting the start of 2025 with a nationwide tour — band in tow — having fans be able to meet him through his music once again.
Richard Goodall, who amazed America’s Got Talent with his rendition of Journey’s “Don’t Stop Believin’,” has drawn comparisons to Steve Perry, the iconic voice of Journey. Perry fronted Journey during their most successful years, from 1977-87 and again from 1995-98, earning the moniker “The Voice”. His tenor vocal range and distinctive tone have made him one of the most recognizable voices in rock music. Many fans acknowledge Goodall’s talent while noting that matching Perry’s vocal range is a significant challenge.
