Even via music, Reba McEntire and Melissa Peterman can practically complete the sentences of the other person. Best friends for years, The Happy’s Place and former Reba costars displayed how in sync they are when they sang an impromptu, a cappella version of the Queen of Country’s famous 2001 track “I’m a Survivor.”
Gabby (Peterman) is given an AI baby doll during a taping of NBC’s Happy’s Place Season 1, Episode 12 (“Baby Doll”) to see how she feels about motherhood, while Bobbie (McEntire) and Isabella (Belissa Escobedo) reassure her that she has instincts to make a fantastic mom. Gabby also comes to terms with the fact on her road to motherhood she will be a single parent.

At the end of the act, she shouts “Bobbie, my tips,” with a grin, and adds “I’ll be needing those.” Behind the scenes, all three women sing the well known words together, although the show finishes with Isabella providing a clever callback to McEntire’s track—“You might want to take on two jobs.” I will be a single mother.”
“…a person who has two jobs. Who never stops loving her children. With soft hands and the heart of a warrior. I am a survivor.
This a cappella performance of “I’m a Survivor” by the actors behind Reba Hart and Barbra Jean was the fans’ reaction to McEntire’s well known sitcom Reba” theme song.

Viewers also loved Peterman’s recreation of a Lion King scene when she held the fake baby over Pride Rock like Simba. One remarked that it “just turned a cherry on an already great moment.”
Certainly, McEntire and Peterman singing “I’m a Survivor” together was not new. Peterman practically shared the stage with McEntire at a 2018 Ontario, Canada show to sing the famous song. Before requesting her to sing the Reba theme song together, Peterman dashed on stage at a Buffalo, New York concert in 2010 and exchanged some funny banter with McEntire.
Reba is a big fan regardless of whether “I’m a Survivor” has gone so viral on TikTok that even Happy is singing the song or she’s joining the trend. On TikTok, McEntire said of “I’m a Survivor,” “I love seeing how much it’s connected with people throughout the years.” “Great music has that power!”
