If you’ve scrolled past a headline lately claiming Priscilla Presley and her granddaughter were feuding, you’re not the only one. Those stories have been floating around for a couple of years now.
This past weekend Priscilla decided to say something about them. Out loud. In front of a full theater.
Here’s the background for anyone who’s lost track of the family. Riley Keough is Elvis and Priscilla’s granddaughter. She’s the daughter of Lisa Marie, Elvis’s only child. Lisa Marie passed away in early 2023, and ever since, the tabloids have hinted that the women in the family were at odds.
At her Oct 10 show in Gothenburg, Sweden, a question about all of that came up in front of everyone. Priscilla didn’t wait around to answer it. She told Swedish reporters the stories only exist for two reasons, “to make news” and “to make money.”
There was a disagreement in the family after Lisa Marie was gone, and it made the papers at the time. That part is real. What Priscilla wanted people to understand is where things actually stand today.
And she said it plainly. I’ll give you her exact words in a second, because they’re warmer than anything the headlines have run.
She also wasn’t the only Presley talking this weekend. Her son Navarone was sitting right beside her during another chat when the subject came up. He just smiled and added one short line of his own.
Before the words, here’s something to sit with. There’s no video of that night on stage, so here’s a better thing, Elvis’s own voice on one of the most tender songs he ever recorded.

That’s the feeling Priscilla was reaching for. Family, and holding the people you love close.
So here’s what she told the room: “No, that’s not true at all. Riley, me and the girls are so close… Riley and I have never fought.” She didn’t hedge it one bit. A flat no, and the whole room heard her.
And Navarone’s line? “We would never fight.” Short and done.
It’s easy to believe the worst about famous families, because the worst makes a better headline. Priscilla has lived with that for most of her life. This weekend, with a crowd watching, she chose to answer it herself instead of letting the rumor stand.
Watch the clip above, listen to that voice, and you might understand why she sounded so sure. Then tell us. Do you believe the family is as close as she says?
