Priscilla Presley Was Asked What It Was Like to Kiss Elvis. Her Answer Was a Question of Her Own.

At 81, Priscilla Presley is still traveling the world to talk about the man she married, and audiences can’t get enough of her stories.

This month she brought her show, “An Evening with Priscilla Presley,” to a concert hall in Gothenburg, Sweden. The evening was built around her private photos and home movies, with questions put to her on stage by her European manager and a representative of the Memphis Mansion museum in Denmark. Her son Navarone, 39, even walked up on stage as a lovely surprise.

Then came the question every fan has wondered about. Someone asked Priscilla what it was actually like to kiss Elvis.

She didn’t give a long, dreamy speech. Instead she shot back with a quick question of her own, and the room lit up. A newspaper critic who was there called it the single best moment of the whole night.

So what did she say?

According to Swedish reporters, Priscilla told the audience: “Have you seen his lips?”

That was it. One cheeky little comeback that brought the house down, and anyone who has ever looked at a photo of Elvis knows exactly what she meant.

A song that fits the moment

There’s no footage of that evening in Sweden online, so here is the Elvis ballad that suits the story better than any other.

It’s the kind of song that reminds you why a question like that still makes people smile all these years later.

Her European run is still going as you read this. German public broadcaster WDR caught up with the tour for a short report on this week’s stop.

She takes the show to Baesweiler, Germany on Wednesday, October 21, and then to Basel, Switzerland on Saturday, October 24.

Priscilla has told a lot of stories over the years, but it’s the small, human moments like this that fans love most, the ones where she still lights up when she talks about him.
