Michael Jackson Picked a Famous Child Star to Be His Daughter’s Godfather. Years Later, They Got Matching Tattoos.

When Paris Jackson was a little girl, Michael chose someone special to be her godfather. Not a business partner or a family friend from church. A young actor the whole world already knew from the movies.

The two of them, that actor and Michael, had been close since the actor was a kid himself. He even showed up in one of Michael’s most famous music videos, “Black or White,” back in 1991.

The friendship didn’t end there. The godfather stayed in Paris’s life as she grew up, and the two of them are still close today.

In 2017, they did something to make it permanent. They walked into a tattoo shop called Tattoo Mania in West Hollywood and got matching ink. Small and simple, nothing flashy. Hers went on her left forearm, his on his right, so the two designs line up like mirror images when they stand side by side.

Here’s the moment they talked about it.

Entertainment Tonight on the matching tattoos

Watch the way he explains the whole thing. He treats it as a sweet inside joke between the two of them, nothing heavy about it.

So who is he, and what on earth did they get tattooed?

The godfather is Macaulay Culkin, the boy from “Home Alone.” And the tattoo they share is a tiny spoon.

Yes, a spoon. It’s a private joke between the two of them, and Culkin has always kept it light. “It’s not like you’re ruining something,” he once said, “like stealing a chess piece, where the board would be incomplete.”

He’s also given Paris the same piece of advice for years, four little words he clearly means. “Don’t forget to be silly.”

For a girl who grew up under more pressure and more cameras than most of us can imagine, having a godfather like that sounds like a real gift. Someone who isn’t about the fame at all, and who just wants her to stay a little goofy and enjoy her life.

The two of them have been spotted together plenty over the years, looking exactly like what they are. Family that chose each other.

Not bad for a bond that started on a music video set all those years ago.
