For years, rumors claimed that Michael Jackson had another son the public did not know about.
His name was Omer Bhatti, a Norwegian dancer who spent years around Michael, traveled with him and became so close to the Jackson family that many people wondered whether their relationship went far beyond friendship.
The speculation became especially intense after Michael’s death in 2009, when Omer was seen sitting with the Jackson family at Michael’s memorial.
But the story had actually started years earlier.
Omer grew up fascinated by Michael Jackson.
As a child, he copied Michael’s dancing, clothing and stage style. Reports from people around Michael described Omer dressing like a miniature version of him, right down to similar hats, pants, shoes and white socks.
One account published in 2004 claimed Michael first encountered Omer and his family in a hotel lobby in Tunisia in 1996, where Omer performed an imitation of him. Michael was reportedly impressed by the young dancer and quickly developed a close relationship with his family.
Omer later traveled with Michael and spent significant time around Neverland.
That closeness helped create an extraordinary rumor.
Some reports claimed Michael had privately told people that Omer was actually his biological son and that the truth had been hidden for privacy and security reasons.
But people who said they witnessed Michael meeting Omer rejected that version, arguing that Michael could not have secretly fathered him because the two had only met years after Omer was born.

What was never really disputed was how close Michael and Omer became.
Omer traveled with him and appeared beside him during international trips. Years later, Omer explained that Michael became far more than simply his musical idol.
He said Michael “in a way, adopted me” and became a mentor and father figure.
Omer also remembered Michael calling him a “mini-version” of himself and taking him on tour, where Omer could sit close to the stage and watch the performances.
The biological-son rumor exploded again after Michael died.
Omer’s position among the Jackson family at the memorial immediately attracted attention, and Michael’s father Joe Jackson even publicly said he believed Omer was Michael’s child.
Omer, however, gave a different account.
In 2009, he denied that Michael was his biological father and reportedly described him instead as his best friend, saying his real parents lived in Norway.
His later comments remained consistent with that explanation.
In 2020, Omer described Michael as a father figure who had welcomed him into his life rather than identifying himself as Michael’s biological child. Paris Jackson also spoke of Omer as an older brother, showing just how deeply he had become part of their family circle.
There has never been publicly verified DNA evidence establishing Omer Bhatti as Michael Jackson’s biological son.
But the relationship behind the rumor was very real.
Omer began as a young Michael Jackson admirer and somehow became so close to his idol that Michael treated him almost like family, creating a mystery that followed them for years.
