For ten long years, fans have missed his incredible energy. But now, his estate and Sony’s Legacy Recordings are giving us a beautiful gift. They officially announced a brand-new, 10-track album called Timeless.
New Prince Album Incoming!
This amazing compilation is packed with rare, and unreleased songs hidden away for decades. It will drop worldwide on August 28, 2026, on standard CD, classic black vinyl, and streaming services. If you are a true fan, you can even grab a limited-edition purple marble vinyl!
To celebrate, the estate just dropped a brand-new single called “Stone.” It is an unreleased funk gem from 1995 that features Prince’s signature, sky-high falsetto voice. It is available to stream right now, and it is the perfect taste of the magical journey this album takes us on.
The Full Tracklist
Timeless is structured like a story. It starts at the very beginning of his career and takes us all the way to his final days.
Here is the secret history behind every single track on the album:
1. I Am You (4:44)
This is a rare rock song from the very genesis of his career. Prince recorded it all by himself as a home recording in late 1978. It was captured at his cozy France Avenue Home Studio in Edina, Minnesota. It is a raw, beautiful look at a young kid who was just getting started.
2. Tick Tick Bang (3:13)
The basic rhythm for this track was recorded during a wild summer session in 1981, right alongside his massive hit Controversy. Prince loved the groove so much that he re-recorded it from scratch at Paisley Park in 1989. It was almost included on his famous Graffiti Bridge album project.
3. Heaven (4:29)
Recorded on a warm May night in 1985 at Sunset Sound in Hollywood, this beautiful track has a mythic history. Prince originally wanted to use it for an ambitious movie project called The Dawn. The movie was ultimately abandoned, and this song was locked away in the dark.
4. I Wonder (4:11)
A completely hidden surprise. Prince laid down this track in August 1989 at Paisley Park Studios. Nobody knows if he was planning to put it on a specific album. He just went into the studio, made magic, and left it for us to find.
5. With This Tear – Prince
Prince originally wrote this moving song as a special gift for pop queen Céline Dion. Her version became famous, but fans always wondered what Prince’s own guide vocal sounded like. The estate released his solo version digitally on April 20, 2026, and now it has a permanent home on this record.
6. Stone – Prince
The explosive new single! Originally written by Sandra St. Victor, Tom Hammer, and Jules Van Veen under the name “Nothing Left To Give,” they sent the track to Prince in the spring of 1995. Prince took the song, added his tight funk arrangement, and turned it into an absolute masterpiece.
7. Calabama (3:31)
This upbeat, happy song was intended to be the title track for an unreleased album Prince was cooking up right before his massive Musicology comeback. It features a wild, fun hook where Prince shouts, “All the pretty ladies clap your hands!” It even slides into a cool rap that became the base for his famous live tour anthems.
8. The Guilty Ones (4:15)
A futuristic track recorded on October 16, 2007, at Paisley Park. Prince loved the message of this song so much that he printed some of the lyrics in his famous 21 Nights photo book in 2008. But nobody knew it was an actual recorded song until his team found the tape after his passing.
9. Bestest Friend (4:38)
The ultimate mystery track. This is a completely unknown outtake that has never appeared on any bootleg or tracklist in history. It is a brand-new surprise for even the biggest fans.
10. How Come You Don’t Call Me Anymore? (Live) (5:54)
The perfect curtain call. This is a breathtaking live performance of one of his most emotional piano ballads. Insiders speculate it was captured during his final, intimate Piano & Microphone tour shortly before his tragic passing. It is just Prince, a piano and a stadium full of love.
Prince spent his entire life building a musical fortress and these tracks show that his creativity had absolutely no limits. Whether he was a nervous kid recording at home in 1978 or a legend commanding a stage, he knew exactly how to make the world stop and listen.
