Decades after Michael Jackson recorded some of his biggest albums, British listeners are still consuming his music in remarkable numbers.
On the UK charts for the week ending September 24, 2026, six different Michael Jackson releases appear across the country’s official album rankings.
And three of them are inside the main Official Albums Chart Top 40.
Leading everything is The Essential Michael Jackson.
The greatest-hits collection jumped from No. 4 to an incredible No. 2, placing Michael just one position away from another UK No. 1 album. The compilation has now spent 276 weeks on the main albums chart.
Then comes Thriller.
More than four decades after its original release, the album climbed from No. 35 to No. 31 this week and has accumulated 287 weeks on the UK albums chart.
But the biggest longevity milestone belongs to Bad.
The 1987 album rose from No. 45 to No. 39 and reached its 208th week on the Official Albums Chart.
That equals exactly four full years of accumulated chart appearances.

Those three albums are only part of the story.
Number Ones is also appearing across several UK rankings, including the sales, physical, vinyl and download charts.
Off the Wall returned to the Official Physical Albums ranking at No. 94, showing that fans are still purchasing physical copies of the 1979 classic rather than only streaming its songs.
And Michael’s newest charting project, Michael – Songs from the Motion Picture, remains at No. 5 on the Official Soundtrack Albums Chart.
The soundtrack has now spent 21 weeks on that ranking and previously reached No. 1.
Altogether, that gives Michael six charting projects:
The Essential, Thriller, Bad, Number Ones, Off the Wall and Michael – Songs from the Motion Picture.
The numbers also show that this is not simply one old album benefiting from nostalgia.
Listeners are moving between different periods of Michael’s career, from Off the Wall and Thriller through Bad, his greatest-hits collections and the music connected to the 2026 film.
And perhaps the most striking statistic belongs to an album released on August 31, 1987.
Nearly four decades later, Bad has now accumulated four entire years on Britain’s main albums chart.
