Michael Jackson vinyl collectors are getting another chance at several releases that have become increasingly difficult to find.
On October 16, 2026, four previously released Michael Jackson vinyl editions are scheduled to return through Sony Music’s catalogue campaign:
Thriller 25, Bad 25, Scream and Michael Jackson’s This Is It 10th Anniversary Box Set.
These are not newly discovered Michael Jackson recordings or brand-new anniversary editions.
They are reissues of existing releases, giving collectors another opportunity to buy them without relying entirely on the resale market.
Thriller 25 originally arrived in 2008 to celebrate 25 years of Thriller. The 2LP edition includes the original album alongside anniversary material such as “For All Time” and collaborations or remixes featuring Akon, Kanye West, will.i.am and Fergie. Sony’s Canadian store confirms the 2LP configuration and bonus material.
The returning edition is listed at $34.98.
Then there is Bad 25.
Originally released during the album’s 25th-anniversary campaign in 2012, the 3LP edition expands Bad with material including “Streetwalker,” “Price of Fame,” “Al Capone,” “Free” and other recordings connected to the album’s sessions.
Sony Music Vinyl currently lists the 3LP set at $69.98.
Michael Jackson’s This Is It 10th Anniversary Box Set
The official Michael Jackson channel released an unboxing showing exactly what came inside the elaborate This Is It collector’s edition.
Scream is also returning.
Released in 2017, the Halloween-inspired compilation brings together darker Michael Jackson tracks and fan favorites including “Thriller,” “Ghosts,” “Dirty Diana” and “Scream.”
The collectible 2LP pressing even uses glow-in-the-dark vinyl and includes the “Blood on the Dance Floor X Dangerous” mash-up. It is listed at $34.98.
But the most unusual release is easily the This Is It 10th Anniversary Box Set.
When Sony Music and the Michael Jackson Estate originally announced it in 2019, only 1,000 numbered copies were planned.
The enormous package included four translucent-blue vinyl records, a 60-page hardcover photo book, a rare promotional 3D-enhanced Blu-ray, an authentic lenticular ticket originally produced for Michael’s planned July 24, 2009 O2 concert and a box containing a sound-responsive LED panel.
It is now being listed again at $479.99.
For collectors, that may be the biggest surprise of the entire announcement.
None of these releases contain newly discovered Michael Jackson songs.
But that is not really the point.
For fans who missed these editions the first time, October 16 offers another opportunity to put some of Michael Jackson’s most collectible modern vinyl releases back on the shelf.
And with Thriller 25, Bad 25, Scream and This Is It all returning together, October could become a very expensive month for Michael Jackson collectors.
