Matty Juniosa Is Coming Home to Glasgow for His Biggest Solo Show

Before television viewers knew his name, Matty Juniosa was singing in wee pubs around Hamilton and Glasgow, often performing for late-night crowds in unexpected places. Those small rooms helped shape the fearless entertainer who would later walk onto one of Britain’s biggest stages and turn a Prince classic into his life-changing moment.

Now Matty is returning to the city that supported him before the Golden Buzzers and millions of views. On Sunday, September 27, he will headline Matty J: Live at the Pavilion at Glasgow’s iconic Pavilion Theatre. He is promising an intimate evening filled with music, memories and surprises, but the location alone makes this much more than an ordinary concert.

GLASGOW… I’m coming home to see you again!

Matty arrived on the Britain’s Got Talent stage with a huge personality, but nobody was prepared for the voice that followed. His dramatic version of “Purple Rain” brought the audience to its feet and convinced Simon Cowell to send him forward with a Golden Buzzer. In one unforgettable burst of gold confetti, the singer who had spent years chasing opportunities was suddenly being watched around the world.

That performance began an extraordinary run. Matty earned another Golden Buzzer after taking on Aerosmith’s “Dream On,” reached the live final and finished fourth after his emotional rendition of “Nothing Compares 2 U.” He also secured a role as Annas in the West End production of Jesus Christ Superstar. Yet even as larger stages opened before him, Matty continued speaking about the music and ambitions behind the television moments.

That ambition gives his Pavilion show another layer of excitement. Fans already know the performances that made him famous, but Matty has promised songs they have never heard him sing before, ranging from theatre and pop to something completely unexpected.

Matty may not have lifted the Britain’s Got Talent trophy, but he left with two Golden Buzzers, a fourth-place finish, a West End role and an international fanbase.
