How John Foster’s Wild Mardi Gras Entrance Stopped the Crowd

Did you know that a garbage truck just led a royal procession? There it was, a massive green Waste Pro truck rumbling down the street as the opening act for Louisiana’s newest star, John Foster. This strange sight stopped thousands of people in their tracks during the 2026 Mardi Gras season.

The crowd waited for something magical to happen. Suddenly, a giant tiger float named Mardi Gras Mike appeared, glowing with bright neon colors and standing nearly fourteen feet tall. On top sat John Foster, looking completely at home despite the beautiful chaos surrounding him. He smiled and tossed beads to the cheering fans, proving that he is still just a humble kid from Addis.

Watch the moment the camera pans from a literal trash hauler to a glowing masterpiece:

One viewer said that seeing a local boy make it this far brings a tear to the eye. Another person mentioned that the tiger float looked like something out of a dream. It is rare to see such a mix of everyday life and high energy celebration in one place.

Before he was riding giant tigers, he was just a young man with a guitar and a very big dream. He went from a small stage to the American Idol without ever losing his roots.
