Two of Michael Jackson’s Brothers Are Taking the Jackson 5 Hits Back on Stage. The Man Singing Michael’s Parts Has Played Him Before.

Here’s something to warm your heart heading into the holidays. Two of the original Jackson brothers are putting the old Jackson 5 songs back on a live stage next month.

Marlon and Jackie Jackson, who stood right beside Michael when they were boys in Gary, Indiana, are headlining a run of shows called “Jackson 5 Live In Concert.” These are the real brothers, singing the real hits, all these years later.

The tour hits four cities. Manchester on November 6, Cardiff on November 8, Wolverhampton on November 11 and London on November 13. A band called Heatwave, famous for “Boogie Nights,” opens every night.

Now, you might be wondering about one thing. Who sings Michael’s parts?

Because nobody can really replace Michael. But somebody has to stand up front and carry those lead vocals on “I Want You Back” and “ABC.” And the man they picked for the job is no stranger to the role.

Before we tell you who he is, take a look at Marlon and Jackie doing their thing on stage this year.

Watch how the crowd reacts the moment the first beat drops. Some songs never get old, and these men still know exactly how to deliver them.

So, the singer out front. His name is Mitchell Zhangazha, and he has already walked in Michael’s shoes once before. He recently played Michael in “MJ The Musical,” the hit stage show built around Michael’s life and music. In other words, he’s spent months learning how to move and sing like the King of Pop.

That makes him about as good a choice as you could ask for. He isn’t trying to be Michael. He’s there to help two real brothers honor him, night after night, with the songs the family made famous together.

For a lot of us here, this news brings up a wave of nostalgia. We grew up with the Jackson 5. We watched five kids from Indiana become one of the most beloved groups in the world. To know that two of those brothers are still out there, still singing those songs for live crowds, feels pretty special.

The one catch for American fans is the location. Every date on this run is over in the United Kingdom, so you’d need a passport and a plane ticket to be in the room.

But even if you can’t make it across the ocean, the clip above gives you a taste of what the night feels like. Turn the sound up, watch Marlon and Jackie work the stage, and picture the whole Jackson 5 songbook coming to life one more time.
