Did you know Sydnie Christmas used to work at a gym? She was a receptionist, checking people in every day. This job was far from the big stage she had dreamed of. Even though she trained at the D&B Academy of Performing Arts, she put her singing career on hold.
When Sydnie walked onto the BGT stage, she shared that she wasn’t very confident in herself. She had professional singing experience on cruise ships, including playing Rizzo in Grease. But coming back to such a big audition meant facing a high risk of failure.

She chose the song “Tomorrow” from the musical Annie. This choice showed how much she hoped for a better future. Her voice was so genuine that judge Amanda Holden pressed the Golden Buzzer. One viewer wrote, “How is she so humble yet sweet? I love her so much.” Another viewer said, “I KNEW SHE’D DO IT! FROM THE VERY FIRST AUDITION!”
Sydnie kept singing for the public vote in the Semi-Finals with Frank Sinatra’s “My Way.” She won that vote and moved to the Final, showing everyone she belonged there. This journey was about pushing past doubt. One fan joked about her three big songs, saying: “Well, She did it ‘Her Way’ The Sun Did come out ‘Tomorrow’ and took her ‘Over The Rainbow’…”

Winning the show did not just give her money. It gave her the chance to perform for King Charles at the 2024 Royal Variety Performance. She went from a gym desk to performing for the King, a huge honor. She also started acting in musical theatre right away, playing the main villain, Cruella de Vil, in 101 Dalmatians The Musical.
