Elvis and Priscilla Gave Her Parents a Private Wedding Album. It Just Found a New Home Far From Memphis.

When Elvis and Priscilla married on May 1, 1967, in Las Vegas, it was a small and private affair. Afterward, a handful of special photo albums were put together, just for family.

One of them went to Priscilla’s parents, Joseph and Ann Beaulieu.

Inside were 30 photographs from the wedding day itself, the kind of close-up, candid shots the public never saw. There were also three color snapshots of Elvis, Priscilla and their baby daughter Lisa Marie at Graceland in 1968. One of those little pictures carries a caption in Elvis’s own world, a playful note about going fast to scare her mother.

Only about ten of these albums were ever made. That makes this one of the rarest pieces of Presley family history there is.

This September, that very album came up for auction, offered by a Danish auction house. Fans started wondering where something so personal would end up. Graceland, surely? Or maybe an American collector who’d keep it close to home in Memphis?

It didn’t go to Memphis.

Reportedly, it’s heading to the Memphis Mansion, an Elvis museum all the way over in Randers, Denmark. The album full of Priscilla’s own family photos will now live behind glass in Scandinavia, thousands of miles from where those pictures were taken. And reportedly it was let go by someone in Priscilla’s own family, a nephew.

There’s no video of the album itself. But here’s British newsreel footage of the wedding day those photographs came from, filmed back in 1967.

Watch Priscilla in her veil and Elvis in his dark tux, both of them young and beaming. These are the faces and the moments captured in those 30 photographs, the ones now settling into a museum case half a world away.

It’s a bittersweet thing for fans to sit with. On one hand, a private family treasure is leaving American hands. On the other, it’s going somewhere it’ll be loved and looked after, a museum built by people who clearly adore him.
