Elvis Presley was not just a singles phenomenon.
Across his career, 10 different Elvis albums reached No. 1 on the Billboard 200, spending a combined 67 weeks at the top of America’s main album chart.
His first came almost immediately.
The self-titled Elvis Presley reached No. 1 in 1956 and stayed there for 10 weeks. His follow-up, Elvis, also topped the chart that same year.
Then came Loving You, Elvis’ Christmas Album and several hugely successful movie soundtracks.
One soundtrack dominated more than all the others.
Blue Hawaii spent an incredible 20 weeks at No. 1 beginning in 1961, making it Elvis’s longest-running chart-topping album.

The Aloha from Hawaii via Satellite album gave Elvis another No. 1 in 1973, showing that nearly two decades after his breakthrough he could still reach the very top.
And his chart story continued even after his death.
In 2002, the compilation ELV1S: 30 #1 Hits reached No. 1 and stayed there for three weeks. That meant approximately 46 years separated Elvis’s first and tenth No. 1 albums.
As of 2026, Billboard still credits Elvis with 10 No. 1 albums, placing him among the relatively small group of artists to reach double digits.
But the bigger number may be those 67 weeks.
For more than a full year of combined chart time, the No. 1 album in America had Elvis Presley’s name on it.
