Carrie Underwood’s little boy filled out a school sheet all about his mom. His answers for her age and job had her laughing.

Every parent has gotten one of these.

A school worksheet comes home, and your child has filled in the blanks about you. Some of the answers are sweet, and some are a little too honest. Once in a while, one is so far off the mark you have to show somebody.

Carrie Underwood got one of those back in February 2020.

If you don’t follow country music closely, Carrie won “American Idol” in 2005. She grew up in small-town Checotah, Oklahoma, and went on to a big country music career. At home, though, she’s a mom of two boys. Her husband is Mike Fisher, a retired NHL hockey player who captained the Nashville Predators.

In early 2020, their older son, Isaiah Michael Fisher, was 4. His little brother, Jacob, had just turned 1.

Isaiah’s school gave him an assignment all about his mom. It’s the kind of page where a little kid fills in blanks about the most important person in his world.

On Thursday, Feb. 13, 2020, right before Valentine’s Day, Carrie shared his finished sheet on Instagram. The timing was perfect. Plenty of parents were getting homemade cards and crayon hearts that same week.

A lot of it was just plain sweet. According to Isaiah, his mom’s hair is blonde and her eyes are brown. The thing she always says to him is “I love you.” The two of them like to watch TV together. And if she had some free time, she’d like to “ride horses.”

Then he got to the part about her age.

Isaiah wrote that his mom was 70 years old.

Carrie was 36 at the time.

And her job? Forget the singing. Her own son wrote that her job is to “wash the laundry.” For good measure, he added that she’s really good at “folding laundry.”

Carrie took it like a champ. She posted the sheet with the caption, “Soooo…apparently I’m 70 and I’m really good at doing the laundry.”

Local TV news picked up the story, and this short report is a quick way to see what all the fuss was about.

Carrie wasn’t the only one cracking up. Two of her famous friends jumped into the comments. Country star Miranda Lambert wrote, “Bahahaha.” Grammy-winning singer Brandi Carlile chimed in with “OMG! I love kids.”

What makes it so funny is how normal it is. A 4-year-old doesn’t keep track of hit records. He notices who’s carrying the laundry basket, and from where he stood, keeping everybody in clean clothes was a pretty important job.

Isaiah is 11 now, so that worksheet is more than six years old. He’s had a say in his mom’s work in other ways, too. In this interview with Access Hollywood, Carrie says Isaiah “runs the show” on her tour.

We hope somebody saved that worksheet. A mom who can fold laundry that well deserves to have it on the fridge.
