Carrie Underwood just became a Jeopardy! clue. Then she answered back with one cheeky song

If you watch “Jeopardy!,” you know the drill. A category comes up, a clue appears on the big blue board, and the contestants race to answer in the form of a question. It’s been a staple of American living rooms since the 1960s.

This week one of those clues had a familiar name in it. Carrie Underwood.

Carrie, in case you’ve somehow missed her, is one of the biggest voices in country music. She won season four of “American Idol” back in 2005 as a small-town girl from Oklahoma, and she never slowed down after that. Platinum records, Grand Ole Opry membership, a Las Vegas residency, the whole thing.

But the clue wasn’t about any of that. It was about a job she’s quietly done every single fall for a very long time.

When Carrie saw the clue, she grabbed a screenshot and shared it with her fans. And the little song she set it to might be the best part of the whole story.

Here’s what that board actually said, as quoted by the country station 94.9 The Bull on October 26.

“Carrie Underwood Sings ‘Waiting All Day for Sunday Night’ as this show’s theme.”

The answer the show was looking for was Sunday Night Football. Carrie has sung that booming opening theme on NBC every football season since 2013. This year, 2026, marks her 14th straight year doing it. That’s longer than some of those contestants have been watching the show.

So when her own name showed up as a quiz-show answer, Carrie leaned right into it. She posted the clue to her fans and set it to “Hey Look Ma, I Made It,” a cheerful 2019 hit by the rock band Panic! At The Disco. If you’ve ever wanted to brag without saying a word, that’s how you do it.

NBC says she’s just as fond of this year’s open as her fans are. “It’s one of my most favorite opens yet!” she said about the 2026 version.

Before you see that theme for yourself, here’s a local news report on Carrie coming back for her 14th year, the exact streak the clue was built around.

Fourteen years is a stretch nobody saw coming when she first stepped up to sing it. The song has changed a little each season, with new words and a fresh look, but that big Sunday-night feeling stays the same.

And now, go ahead and hear the open that put her name on the “Jeopardy!” board in the first place. This is the full 2026 version, the one she called a favorite.

Whether the contestant on that night actually came up with the right answer, well, nobody’s said. But Carrie clearly got a kick out of it. Not bad for a song she’s been belting out every autumn for well over a decade.
