Bunnie XO Defends Jelly Roll After People Call Him A Performative Human

Jelly Roll had a massive night at the 2026 Grammy Awards by winning three big trophies. He took home the award for Best Contemporary Country Album and felt very thankful. When he got on stage, he held a small Bible in his hand to show what helped him change his life. He told the crowd that Jesus does not belong to just one political party.

The singer talked about his hard past and how he used to stay in a tiny 6×8-foot jail cell. Back then, he felt like a horrible human with no future. He said the radio and the Bible were the only things that gave him hope in the dark.

Many fans loved his words, but some people on the internet started saying mean things right away. One person called him a performative Christian and said he was just acting for money. Another viewer claimed he was only trying to support a political group. These bullies tried to turn a happy night into a big fight about politics and religion.

Jelly Roll stayed quiet about the hate, but his wife, Bunnie XO,  decided to stand up for her husband. She is known for being brave and speaking her mind on her Dumb Blonde podcast. She did not like seeing people weaponizing the Bible to hurt a man who was just sharing his story. Bunnie felt she had to protect him from the online trolls.

Bunnie called the mean comments borderline demonic because people were attacking someone for praising God. She explained that Jelly Roll never asks his fans for money for a church or a congregation. She thinks it is silly to call him MAGA just because he loves Jesus. To her, the critics are the ones with the real spiritual problem.

Jelly Roll continues to win hearts by being open about his mistakes and his journey to find peace. Follow Jelly Roll on Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube to see more of his amazing story. Hear the album he won a Grammy for right here!
