Get ready for a giant party on your TV screen! On the May 5 episode of American Idol, something very special is happening. Two faces from the past are coming back to say hello. Paula Abdul and Randy Jackson are returning to the show!
They are there to help the Top 5 singers learn how to be superstars from their years of experience!
Paula and Randy were two of the very first judges on the show. They are like the grandparents of American Idol! But even though they are coming back to visit, one very important person is missing. Everyone is asking the same thing: Where is Simon Cowell?
Paula Abdul and Randy Jackson are returning to “American Idol” next week!
Simon Cowell was the judge whom everyone remembered the most. He was the “grumpy” one who wore tight t-shirts and told the singers exactly what he thought. Sometimes he was a little bit mean, but he was always honest. He, Paula, and Randy were a team for many years. They were the original “Big Three” who made the show a hit worldwide.
Simon loved judging the show with them; he once said, “It was like magic in a bottle.” He thinks the old days were so special that they can never be copied again. And, this is the reason he’s not returning to the idol stage with them!
Simon Cowell’s Best Insults
Simon left the show Idol a long time ago to do other big things. He started other big contests like America’s Got Talent. Even though his old friends Paula and Randy are going back to the Idol stage this week, Simon is staying away. He says that the chemistry they had as a team was a one-time thing. He doesn’t want to go back and try to make it happen again because it might not feel the same.
Simon also likes being the big boss of his own shows now. He is very busy making sure his other TV shows run perfectly. Plus, he thinks American Idol has become a little too “nice” lately. He liked it better when things were tough! So, while we will get to see Paula and Randy give out hugs and advice on May 5, Simon will be watching from home. It won’t be the full original team, but it will still be a night to remember!
