He was a pioneer who liked to do things his own way. He wrote his own songs and even decided which instruments should be in a rock band. This night was supposed to be easy.
But behind the curtains, a big fight was happening because a powerful boss tried to boss Buddy around. Buddy had to choose between following orders or keeping a promise he made to his friends and fans to play the song Oh Boy.
Ed Sullivan was the man in charge, and he did not like it when people said no to him. On the other hand, Buddy Holly was a brave leader who did not like to be pushed around.
