Karolina Protsenko Transforms ‘Sweet Child O’ Mine’ with Her Violin, Giving the Song a Whole New Emotional Light

Dylan Kickham

There are some songs that never grow old, and among them is “Sweet Child O’ Mine” by Guns N’ Roses. The song has a very well-known guitar sound, but Karolina Protsenko performs it in a brand-new light with her violin. This beautiful and emotional rendition of the song leaves goosebumps all over.

Karolina plays violin on the street while passersby get distracted momentarily. Her playing is light-toned but very intense and full of feeling. She sounds like she is singing without lyrics to the story of the song through her notes. Sweet Child O’ Mine sounds like it was written for the violin while she plays.

The audience seemed awed by her act. Some recorded the play using their cell phones, while others simply sat there, soaking up the music. Internet fans enjoy her performances as they comment that she brings freshness and originality to all of her songs. Talent and dedication distinguish Karolina from other musicians.

Another of her great covers is Metallica’s “Nothing Else Matters”. Just like Sweet Child O’ Mine, it’s a rock song but she plays it so incredibly well on her violin.
